Paul Kearns, BA, EMT-P, CPDM - President
Paul has been an emergency medical professional for the past twenty five years. Paul graduated with a BA in history from the Plattsburgh State University of New York in 1990. Shortly after completing his degree, he continued with post baccalaureate work in medical sciences and became a paramedic in 1992. Paul spent the next 10 years as a New York City paramedic, a critical care transport professional and firefighter. During that time, Paul conducted research with New York University Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital in the fields of emergency medicine, pediatric injury prevention, and pediatric paramedic education. In 2000, Paul assumed the role of education, performance improvement and research director for the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System CEMS. He moved to North Carolina in 2005 and has been teaching with CPR Consultants since 2006. Paul has been an American Heart Association Instructor since 1991. Paul is an accomplished speaker, giving talks on EMS, critical care transport, pediatric injury prevention, safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency response to stroke. Recently, Paul completed the graduate certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the UNC - Chapel Hill School of Public Health. In 2007, Paul was nominated to serve on the American Heart Association Community Strategies Council and continues to work with AHA Advocacy. Paul lives in Apex, NC with his wife Linda, and daughters Amanda and Leanne. When not at home with his family, you can find Paul watching his girls’ soccer teams, playing soccer or golfing.
Lindsay Smith - Sales Coordinator
Lindsay has been with CPR Consultants sine January 2009. Lindsay currently works remotely for the company from Scottsdale, AZ, where she resides while her fiancé Gib attends law school. Lindsay has her Masters in Accountancy from the University of Phoenix and her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys traveling, exercising, walking her yorkie Gizmo, playing and watching sports, and going to dinner and movies with her fiancé. In addition, she spends as much time as possible in South Dakota enjoying the outdoors and helping at her family’s hunting and fishing resort along the Missouri River.
Yakisha Cole - Administrative Assistant
Yakisha has been with CPR Consultants since August 2010. She started at the company as an office assistant and has recently been promoted to the role of administrative assistant. Yakisha has been married for over ten years to her husband David, who together have a three-year-old son B’Jorn. In her free time, Yakisha can be found playing dinosaurs with her son, shopping, walking her dogs, reading, watching football, and defeating her husband in a game of pool.
Eileen Buch - Instructor Coordinator
Eileen has worked at CPR Consultants since 1998. Eileen is a BLS Instructor and Faculty Member. Eileen works with the CPR Consultants instructors maintaining the instructor records and instructor updates. Following her graduation from Cornell University, Eileen completed coursework at SUNY Albany at the Business School. She was a Marketing Manager and Consultant for Xerox Corporation. In her free time, Eileen loves to play tennis. She competes on several USTA teams. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Lance Thigpen - General Manager
Lance has been with CPR Consultants since 2009 and is an American Heart Association Training Center Faculty. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BS in Natural and Cultural Resource Management and he also received a MA in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lance has a passion to equip people to be prepared to respond to anything, anytime, anywhere. He loves spending time with his wife and three children, running, hiking, reading, and watching movies.
